About the Position
United Process Piping is hiring entry-level welders and pipefitters to join our traveling road crew.
This position is a great opportunity for someone who wants to develop a career in stainless steel welding, process piping, fabrication, and field installation. Previous road-crew experience is not required. Welding-school graduates and candidates with basic TIG welding experience are encouraged to apply.
Our crews work inside food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial manufacturing facilities throughout the country. Employees must be comfortable traveling, working extended hours when projects require it, and working as part of a dependable crew.

- Starting pay of $22 to $26 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated ability

Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation of stainless steel process piping and equipment
- Perform TIG welding based on experience, training, and demonstrated ability
- Measure, cut, fit, grind, and prepare stainless steel pipe and materials
- Assist experienced welders and pipefitters with field installation work
- Read measurements, drawings, and project instructions
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and job-site equipment
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow company and customer safety procedures
- Work cooperatively with crew members, supervisors, customers, and other trades
- Travel to project locations throughout the United States
- Represent United Process Piping professionally at customer facilities
Qualifications
- Welding education, basic TIG welding experience, or related hands-on experience preferred
- Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
- Willingness to learn stainless steel welding and process piping installation
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Reliable attendance and dependable work habits
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a crew
- Strong attention to safety and quality
- Ability to work extended hours and overtime when required
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, kneel, and remain on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to work in active manufacturing and construction environments
Selected candidates may be required to complete a welding or skills assessment based on their experience level.
Location and Travel Expectations
Candidates do not need to live directly in Marshfield, Wisconsin, but should live within a reasonable driving distance, generally within approximately two to three hours of our facility.
Employees must be able to reliably report to our Marshfield location or another designated departure point for onboarding, equipment pickup, project travel, and other work-related needs. Company paid travel and lodging begin from the approved departure point.
United Process Piping covers approved work-related travel expenses and lodging. Employees also receive a $62 daily per diem on qualifying travel days.
Project locations, schedules, work hours, and time away from home will vary based on customer needs and project requirements. Applicants must be comfortable with frequent nationwide travel.
