WORK SCHEDULE
- In office (Fort Lee): Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9:00am–5:00pm
- WFH or site work: Thursday - Friday (withsite visits every ~2 weeks)
- Weekend: On-call for staffing issues only (not general operations)
- Seasonal workload expectations:
- - Feb 15 – May 15: generally under 40 hrs/week
- - May 15 – Sep 15: approximately 50 hrs/week
Role Summary
NJPM is hiring a high-ownership Seasonal Operations Manager to run our lifeguard operation across multiple sites. This role is heavily focused on scheduling/coverage first, then Fingercheck* (staffing and payroll program) payroll accuracy and J-1 student visa lifeguard coordination for a seasonal team of 60–80 lifeguards. You’ll have support (a part-time ops/admin assistant in peak season), and strong performers can grow into a Director of Operations track with significant long-term upside including potential incentive/equity discussion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY (in priority order)
1. Scheduling Lifeguard Issue Resolution (Top Priority)
- Build and manage weekly lifeguard schedules across multiple locations and operating hours
- Resolve call-outs and coverage gaps quickly and professionally
- Communicate with lifeguards clearly and professionally; set expectations and accountability
- Maintain coverage standards and prevent last-minute breakdowns, manage weekend and holiday staffing issue.
2. Payroll Accuracy Fingercheck
- Own timekeeping workflows in Fingercheck (approvals, corrections, audit-ready records)
- Track hours by site, resolve discrepancies, and ensure payroll is accurate and on time
- Maintain strong attention to detail and consistent documentation
3. J-1 Logistics Cultural Programming ( Part-time admin supports execution)
· Own J-1 interviews and placement; maintain clear, timely communication with program partners/sponsors
· Coordinate arrivals, onboarding, and departures; manage housing/logistics issues and resolutions
· Lead planning for simple cultural experiences that support retention and program success; partner with the part-time ops/admin assistant for execution/logistics
4. High Ownership / Head of Ops Mindset
· Build checklists, systems, and repeatable processes to keep operations stable
· Coordinate communication across sites to prevent surprises and reduce emergencies
· Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive satisfaction and retention
· Train and oversee a part-time operations/admin assistant during peak season

Field & Site Operations Coordination
· CPOs lead all pool maintenance decisions and do not report to this role.
· This role coordinates and communicates site issues (especially where lifeguard operations are involved) so site teams stay aligned and clients receive consistent updates.
REQUIRMENTS
- Must be 21
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to Northern NJ sites
- Proven experience with scheduling/staffing (multi-site or high-volume preferred)
- Extremely organized; able to manage many moving parts with strong follow-through
- Comfortable working with the public; communicates with a positive, professional demeanor
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong customer communication: experience handling service issues, satisfaction, and operations

COMPENSATION & GROWTH
· $5,500/month to start
· Potential increase to $6,000/month after the first month (based on fit/performance)
· End-of-season bonus: $2,500–$3,000 based on performance (schedule stability/coverage, payroll accuracy, client satisfaction, and labor budget discipline such as reducing avoidable overtime and last-minute premium coverage)
· Growth track: potential to become Director of Operations with 30% pay upside, with long-term incentive/equity discussion subject to in season performance
