Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

We are a growing glass fabrication manufacturer located near Butler, Pennsylvania, seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and continuously improve our safety and environmental programs. This position plays a critical role in creating and maintaining a safe, compliant, and productive workplace while supporting a culture where safety is everyone's responsibility.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who is comfortable working both on the production floor and in an office environment, partnering with employees and management to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain company safety and environmental programs.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments throughout the facility.
- Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain OSHA logs, environmental records, permits, and required regulatory documentation.
- Coordinate employee safety orientation and ongoing training programs.
- Manage Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, machine guarding, confined space, hearing conservation, hazard communication, and other safety programs.
- Oversee emergency response planning, fire prevention, and evacuation procedures.
- Monitor workplace conditions and recommend improvements to reduce hazards and injuries.
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and injury reporting.
- Serve as the primary contact during regulatory inspections and audits.
- Track and report key safety performance metrics and communicate results to leadership.
- Partner with production and maintenance teams to proactively identify and eliminate workplace hazards.
- Promote employee engagement and participation in safety initiatives.
- Stay current on changing environmental and workplace safety regulations.
- Conduct monthly safety committee gatherings and ensure correct documentation of these events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, and/or Environmental Science is required.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting safety training and accident investigations.
- Ability to interpret safety regulations and collaborate with leadership to implement practical compliance solutions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently while building positive relationships across all departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30-Hour Certification
- First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification
Pay: $64,000.00 - $79,000.00 per year
