Tideman Marine, a division of United Plastic Fabricating, designs and manufactures high-density polyethylene (HDPE) boats for military and commercial marine use. Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team. This role is responsible for assisting customers with boat inquiries, providing product recommendations, managing sales transactions, and delivering excellent post-sale support. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a passion for marine products, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Support
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate boats and marine equipment based on their needs
- Interact with internal engineering resources to review customer requirements for appropriate response and direction
- Provide detailed product information, pricing, and availability
- Prepare and process sales quotes, orders, and invoices
- Follow up on leads and maintain customer relationships to drive repeat business
- May deliver or demo boats with customer
- Primary market focus will be US state, local law enforcement, fire/rescue and commercial workboats
Customer Service
- Write, solicit, submit and secure state and county agencies for bid proposals
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person
- Coordinate with Product Support department to support customer needs
Product Knowledge
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of boats, marine engines, accessories, competitor’s offerings and customer/industry trends
- Explain features, specifications, and maintenance requirements clearly to customers
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of sales, customer interactions
- Support marketing efforts such as promotions, events, or applicable trade shows
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or marine industry preferred
- Experience implementing and working with CRM systems and ERP systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Mechanical or marine knowledge desirable
- Ability tow non CDL truck and trailer
- Experience driving boats up to 50’ with multiple engines
