Position Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled QC Chemist with strong hands-on experience in HPLC, GC, and routine analytical testing in a GMP-regulated environment. The ideal candidate must be capable of working independently, performing routine testing, and supporting ongoing product release and stability programs. Experience with Empower software is strongly preferred.
This role involves extensive testing using HPLC, GC, wet chemistry techniques, and USP methods, along with general instrumental analysis such as UV-Vis and Karl Fischer (KF) titrations. The QC Chemist will participate in OOS testing and re-tests, though responsibility for deviation/investigation reports is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine analytical testing using HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, KF, and other wet chemistry techniques.
- Execute testing following USP, internal methods, and GMP requirements.
- Conduct sample preparation, analysis, data interpretation, and documentation.
- Utilize Empower or similar chromatography data systems (CDS) for data acquisition and reporting.
- Support OOS events through re-testing and verification procedures (no investigation paperwork required).
- Maintain accurate laboratory records per GMP/GLP guidelines.
- Work independently after initial onboarding to meet testing timelines.
- Support internal generics and commercial product testing needs across multiple ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications
- 3–6 years of hands-on industry experience in pharmaceutical QC laboratories.
- Strong practical expertise in HPLC and GC—beyond academic or minimal exposure.
- Experience performing wet chemistry and instrumental analysis (KF, UV-Vis, etc.).
- Familiarity with GMP documentation and laboratory compliance requirements.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- Experience with Empower software is highly preferred.
