Manufacturing Engineer
Location: North Carolina
Job Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support manufacturing operations by improving production processes, increasing equipment reliability, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have experience with manufacturing engineering, automation, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and capital equipment projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve manufacturing methods, tooling, and equipment to increase productivity and efficiency.
- Reduce setup and changeover time using Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen methodologies.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance safety, quality, and cost performance.
- Lead capital equipment projects from specification, procurement, and installation through commissioning.
- Update production layouts, equipment drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Troubleshoot recurring manufacturing equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.
- Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs.
- Coordinate contractors and vendors for equipment installation and process improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to achieve operational goals.
- Analyze manufacturing data and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with automation systems, manufacturing equipment, and process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience managing capital equipment projects and equipment installations.
- Knowledge of TPM, Preventive Maintenance, and Predictive Maintenance programs.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, MfgPro, and Kronos.
