What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fuel Dispatcher (days) position at United Petroleum Transports?
The Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching loads to our drivers on behalf of our customers with a high service level expectation.
A Day in the life of a UPT Dispatcher:
- Promote safety in all interactions with drivers and fellow employees
- Monitor customer site inventories and allocations
- Create/build loads within our dispatch system
- Control and complete “Workflow” within dispatch system
- Communicate with drivers regarding customer’s special load requirements
- Assisting the drivers with questions and in planning routes
- Prioritize loads to meet customers expectations
- Track and trace all current loads in transit and deliveries to ensure on time deliveries.
- Assign loads to drivers in a fair and equitable manner to meet driver and customer
- expectations
- Assisting the drivers with planning for the safe and timely transit of fuel by helping themmaintaining legal hours of service/ELD logs throughout their trip to customer locations
- Communicate clearly with drivers during check-ins throughout pickup, transit, and delivery
- Put forward a friendly, professional face when dealing with our customers along with our drivers and fellow employees
- Communicate with CSC Manager & Operations Manager as required
- Comply with all corporate policies and procedures and all health and safety policies
Additional Responsibilities:
- Carry out other duties assigned by Operations manager and/or CSC Manager
Education & Experience:
- High School Education or equivalent
- Two years of verifiable similar dispatching experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic knowledge of DOT regulations, federal and state standards
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects (Multi-Task)
- Self-starter with detail oriented work habits
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Display professional demeanor under pressure
- Good interpersonal skills; able to work well with wide range of individuals
- Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and assigned work schedules
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel)
- Knowledge of basic company employment policies and procedures
- Ability to handle high volume phone traffic
Physical Requirements:
- Sitting for long periods of time, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual activity
- Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds)

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
