Position Summary: The Inventory Control Coordinator - Materials helps safeguard United Petfood raw material inventory assets, by reducing the risk of shortages to our customers and financial misstatement on our Balance Sheet.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure packaging supplies and necessary manufacturing production supplies are available for use in accordance with production requirements.
- Electronically cycle count inventory in all raw material locations and report on any variances.
- Follow up and monitor all materials delivery procedures for accuracy.
- Serve as a contact for packaging issues and packaging quality issues.
- Assist in researching packing cycle count issues/PLTWIP/PLTIN discrepancies.
- Clear the packaging WIP rack and manage IFS PLTWIP daily.
- Assist in pulling packaging samples for customers and testing.
- Assist in managing the on-site van trailer program.

- Additional duties as assigned.
Workplace Safety:
- Completes safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor.
- Participates in mandatory safety trainings and adheres to all safety policies
- Required to report all safety issues, near misses, and injuries
- Completes quality & food safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to Supervisor.
- Participates in mandatory food safety and quality training program requirements
- Preserves the integrity of the BRC system through adherence to the policies and procedures outlined. Takes actions necessary to resolve food safety and quality system deficiencies
- Required to report food safety and quality system failures and take actions necessary to preserve the BRC system.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to operate a stand-up and sit-down forklift safely.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
- Ability to manage and maintain accurate files and records both electronically and on paper.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Comfortable with using all other Microsoft Office software.
- Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy.
- Ability to properly handle confidential information and records.
- Able to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems and/or discrepancies.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
- One year inventory control experience preferred.
- One year experience in shipping/receiving in a plant setting preferred.
