We are seeking a hands-on finance leader to oversee the financial performance of a public works construction company. This role is responsible for job costing accuracy, cash flow management, and compliance across prevailing wage, union labor, and equipment-heavy operations. The ideal candidate identifies issues early and drives accountability across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Own company financials including P&L, cash flow, and reporting
- Enforce accurate job costing and WIP reporting
- Monitor job performance and protect margins
- Ensure compliance with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and union requirements
- Manage billing, collections, and retention
- Partner with operations to review costs, production, and profitability
- Oversee banking relationships, bonding, and financial risk
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in construction finance (public works preferred)
- Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP schedules, and project accounting
- Experience with prevailing wage and union labor compliance
- Proven ability to manage cash flow in a construction environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
