Food Pantry Resource Specialist/Driver Job Compensation:
- $19.00 to $22.78 Per Hour (depending on experience).
Food Pantry Resource Specialist/Driver Job Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Act as liaison with food and non-food resource agencies, stores, community agencies, W-2 program staff, and other UMOS programs.
- Arrange for and pick-up food, non-food, and other resources as needed.
- Drive UMOS truck (Class 3) or van to pick-up and transport donations on a daily schedule.
- Unload and load donations.
- Weigh all donations, sort them and put them away at their designated area.
- Prepare food baskets according to family size guidelines.
- Complete client intakes distribute food and non-food items.
- Assist with the raffles.
- Maintain and organize inventory, keep storage area stocked and clean.
- Daily maintenance cleaning of all pantry areas including floors and disposing of garbage.
- Attend related meetings, workshops, conferences as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Food Pantry Resource Specialist/ Driver Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum two years of experience in truck driving or related field.
- Ability to work with confidential information and documentation.
- Must possess awareness, knowledge, and sensitivity to socioeconomic and culturally diverse backgrounds of the target populations served.
- Ability to work diplomatically with difficult people and diffuse angry customers quickly and effectively.
- Ability to work irregularly non-traditional hours as needed.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish verbal and written preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation, possess a valid Wisconsin Drivers’s License and have adequate car insurance.
Work Environment, Physical, and Sensory Demands:
Physical Demands:
- Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, bend.
- Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently exposed to moderate temperature generally encountered in a controlled temperature environment and outside setting.
- Noise level in this work is usually semi-moderate.
Tools & Equipment Used:
- iPad, iPhone, laptop computers, projectors, copy/scanner machine, computer.
- Be able to scan documents and encrypt documents as necessary.
- Use first aid equipment, fire extinguisher.
- Usage varies by position.
