The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes at Wellroot Family Services. This role administers employee health plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Human Resource Coordinator makes that certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry. This position reports to the VP of HR.
Responsibilities:
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, bonuses or other compensation, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
- Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA
- Ensures that new and accurate job descriptions are written when new positions are created and filled
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Prepares employee offer letters, separation notices, and maintains employee files and other related documentation
- Completes background checks, motor vehicle history, and employee eligibility verifications
- Conducts orientations/on-boarding for all new employees to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Counsels employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefit decisions
- Collaborates with departmental managers regarding new hires, first day schedules, onboarding forms and other documents needed for new staff
- Completes semi-monthly payrolls for all employees: exempt, non-exempt and hourly which includes verifies timecards for hourly employees
- Ensures legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws
- Provide general employee relations support and acting as a trusted advisor to internal managers and team members in the areas of company policy, benefits, payroll, leaves, workers compensation, 401K, and Human Resource technology systems
- Drafts and finalizes employment letters, memos, and other office communication
- Processes W-2 corrections and ACA filings as appropriate
- Administers health plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations
- Maintains employee records in compliance with state and federal requirements
- Implements employee recognition programs, engagement activities, and health and wellness programs
- Completes payroll audits, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action
- Assist in the annual budget planning process as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Salary : $52,000 - $55,000
