Position Summary

The CT Technologist specializes in operating CT equipment, which produces cross- sectional images of patients’ bones, organs, and tissues that are used for diagnosing medical conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Explain procedures to patients, ensure they are correctly positioned, and provide them with protection against necessary exposure to radiation.
  • Set up and adjust CT scan equipment based on the specific examination, patient size, and necessary imaging parameters.
  • Review and evaluate the images produced to ensure high quality and that they contain proper identification and labeling.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to safety standards and protocols.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and work area.
  • Maintain patient records and communicate findings or results to physicians and other medical professionals.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field. (Required)
  • Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (Required)
  • Valid California Radiologic Technologist licensure CRT (Required)
  • Prior experience in CT imaging or radiology (Preferred)
  • Strong understanding of CT technology and equipment
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Salary : $35 - $55
