Description
The Maintenance Sales Representative is responsible for selling preventative maintenance agreements and service solutions for commercial HVAC and plumbing systems. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, technical understanding of mechanical systems, and a hunter mindset to identify and close new business opportunities. The role is crucial in supporting our long-term customer relationships and recurring revenue growth.
Compensation
This position offers a base salary range of $55,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, the role includes a tiered commission structure with uncapped earning potential. High performers can expect to achieve total annual compensation between $120,000 and $160,000 .
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective maintenance contract opportunities
- Conduct site walks and surveys to assess system conditions and service needs
- Engage customers in meaningful dialogue to uncover operational challenges and the pain points associated with deferred maintenance
- Use strategic questioning to help clients self-identify risks and understand the cost of inaction
- Articulate the long-term value of proactive maintenance, positioning it as a solution to avoid future disruptions, downtime, or financial loss. Ability to demonstrate ROI.
- Develop and present tailored solutions that align with customer goals, budget, and decision-making processes.
- Prepare and present maintenance proposals that align with customer needs and company offerings
- Actively pursue leads from internal teams, marketing campaigns, RFPs, portals, and client referrals Maintain CRM records, sales reports, and prospective activity logs
- Negotiate contract terms and close sales in collaboration with internal stakeholders
- Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets
- Partner with service operations to ensure successful customer onboarding and delivery
- Provide post-sale follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and reinforce long-term partnership value.
- Represent the company at networking events, trade shows, and industry associations
Qualifications
- 3 years of sales experience in HVAC, mechanical, or facilities services 3 years of sales experience in HVAC, mechanical, or facilities services software, financial services, insurance etc.
- Strong sales acumen, proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Knowledge of commercial HVAC and/or plumbing systems
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Experience with estimating tools or field inspection apps is a plus
- Familiarity with local building codes and energy rebate programs preferred
- Ability to walk a roof and spot deficiencies and turn these into opportunities
