At United Mechanical we offer commercial and institutional HVAC, electrical, and plumbing services throughout the Southwest Florida region. Our areas of expertise range from hospital/healthcare, school systems & universities, hospitality, and commercial facilities.
As a result of continued growth and success, we are looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager for projects in the Southwest Florida market. We are growing and expanding and are looking for professional, career-minded people. In this position you will:
- Work closely with our suppliers and sub-contractors in support of the project requirements.
- Build a strong working relationship with our Project Managers, Field Managers, Superintendents, and other Assistant Project Managers.
- Be part of a high-performing team that teaches and shares their knowledge.
- Enjoy a large customer base that provides exposure to all areas of the Mechanical Trades.
- Receive on-the-job training to work with specialized mechanical systems and continue your learning.
- Maintain company confidentiality.
- Attend and participate in all required meetings, training exercises, and company activities.
- Adhere to all company policies and departmental procedures and rules.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the HVAC industry is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge and use of Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and other standard electronic mediums is a must.
- The ability to work well within a team setting and be self-motivated to handle tasks independently.
Job responsibilities include:
- Issue purchase orders as required and tie them to the proper cost code. Verify materials are within budgeted costs.
- Rectify invoice discrepancies immediately.
- Release materials at the Project Managers' direction.
- Track material orders and returns.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries.
- Keep customer, Project Manager, Field Manager, and Field Superintendent appraised of equipment shipping schedules.
- Track rental equipment.
- Prepare and issue submittals.
- Prepare and issue Operation & Maintenance and Warranty Statements.
- Coordinate with Warehouse Manager on all deliveries of materials.
- Order and track temporary labor.
- Schedule and track permits and inspections.
- Overall support as requested by the Project Manager.
- A willingness to work until the last job of the day is done
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check to obtain various facility badges needed.
