Tool Crib Attendant

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tool Crib Attendant to oversee the management and distribution of tools, equipment, and materials within our warehouse environment. This vital role ensures that tools are accurately tracked, properly maintained, and readily available to support manufacturing, maintenance, and operational activities. Duties

• Manage the inventory of tools, equipment, and materials within the tool crib, ensuring accurate tracking through warehouse management systems.
• Issue tools and materials to authorized personnel while maintaining detailed records of all transactions.
• Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies or losses.
• Maintain proper storage conditions, organize tool storage areas, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Coordinate with procurement teams for replenishment of supplies, sourcing new vendors when necessary, and negotiating pricing for tools and materials.
• Facilitate process improvements by analyzing inventory data to optimize stocking levels and reduce waste.
• Assist in root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies or tool-related issues to improve overall warehouse operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse distribution, inventory management, or supply chain management roles.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (ERP systems like Microsoft Dynamics Navision (NAV)).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and materials handling safely.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing strategies, and supplier management practices.
• Certification in forklift operation is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills combined with analytical thinking for root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Experience:

• Knowledge of manufacturing tools: 3 years (Preferred)
