Position Summary


The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for leading all inventory accuracy, compliance, and control processes within a 1.8 million square foot high-volume distribution center. This role ensures inventory integrity across all departments including Receiving, Putaway, Picking, VAS, Returns, and Shipping.


The Inventory Control Manager develops and executes strategies that drive inventory accuracy, reduce shrink, strengthen internal controls, and ensure compliance with company policies and audit standards. This role leads a team of inventory professionals and partners cross-functionally with Operations, Safety, Security, Finance, and IT to maintain operational excellence.


Developing and empowering a diverse team to meet and exceed operational goals is a key responsibility of this role. This role also leads proactively in a fast-paced environment and is essential in driving efficiency, maintaining safety protocols, and fostering a culture of collaboration, trust, teamwork, and continuous improvement to drive customer satisfaction.

Functional Responsibilities


  • Direct Daily Operations


    • Manages and guides Inventory Control Operators, Specialists, and Replenishment Specialists, setting clear performance goals and providing regular feedback.

    • Plans, organizes, and delegates daily assignments, ensuring tasks align with financial goals and are completed efficiently.

    • Oversees and coordinates daily cycle counts, conducts physical audits, and maintains inventory records for accuracy and compliance.

    • Tracks inventory adjustments, analyzes and researches discrepancies, and address root causes, using cycle count reports to inform decision-making.


  • Communication and Collaboration: 


    • Acts as a liaison between inventory control and other departments to align inventory capabilities and support operational goals.

    • Communicates effectively with team members and cross-functional partners, ensuring timely resolution of inventory issues and adherence to policies.

    • Collaborate with the Inventory & Replenishment Operations Manager to develop initiatives that improve inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkage.


  • Continuous Improvement


    • Leads initiatives to enhance inventory management processes, reduce shrinkage, and improve accuracy.

    • Monitors team performance and identify areas for development through data-driven insights.

    • Identifies and implements process improvements within inventory control procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

    • Conducts root cause analyses and generates reports for leadership to guide decision-making and support department goals.

    • Supports inventory shrinkage control programs and take proactive steps to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy and efficiency.


  • Continuing Education 


    • Keeps current on best practices in inventory management, supply chain operations, distribution center technology, technology updates, and industry trends.

    • Participate in ongoing training to enhances supervisory and technical skills, supporting team development and operational excellence. 

    • Provides training and development opportunities for team members to foster continuous learning.


     


    Education/Qualifications



    • REQUIRED

    • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or related field preferred.

    • Experience with RF technology and Inventory Scanning Systems. 

    • Intermediate/Advance Microsoft Excel

    • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills to manage multiple projects effectively.

    • PREFERRED

    • Lean or Six Sigma certified.

    • Manhattan Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory tracking tools.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.  


    Experience



    • REQUIRED

    • Minimum of 5 years in Inventory Control or Retail Accounting with proven understanding of distribution center operations and inventory processes.

    • Minimum 3.5 years of supervisory experience in a distribution center environment, managing non-exempt teams.

    • Prior experience with shrinkage reduction programs and process optimization initiatives. 

    • High level of integrity and ethical decision-making.

    • Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.

    • PREFERRED

    • Experience managing inventory programs within an automated distribution center.

    • Experience utilizing advanced data analysis tools and software.


     

    Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
