Job Summary

The Home Visitor serves as a Parent Educator, managing a caseload of 10–15 families and conducting monthly home visits to support effective parenting practices and healthy child development within the urban American Indian/Alaska Native community. This role delivers culturally responsive, evidence-based services, maintains accurate documentation, and supports program development, recruitment, and community engagement efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide parents and caregivers with guidance on children’s language, cognitive, social, and motor development.

· Conduct regular home visits to observe child development, share resources, and support parenting skill development.

· Implement Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum modules, screenings, and follow-up activities.

· Maintain timely and accurate case notes, documentation, and data entry to meet program compliance requirements.

· Prepare instructional and observation materials, including child development and health-related documentation.

· Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and required training to maintain model fidelity.

· Support family recruitment efforts and assist in updating outreach strategies.

· Plan and facilitate monthly group connections and family engagement activities.

· Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI), evaluation activities, and program development initiatives.

· Attend organization-wide outreach events and support community partnerships.

· Screen children for developmental, hearing, and vision concerns and provide referrals as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

· Minimum of associate degree in progress or equivalent experience.

· Two years of data entry experience.

· Two years of supervised home visiting experience and working with children.

· Basic understanding of child development and developmental milestones.

· Ability to model positive parenting behaviors and appropriate child interactions.

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse cultural communities.

· Ability to work independently, manage a consistent schedule, and maintain regular communication with supervision.

· Ability to pass a background investigation, including review of criminal history.

· Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation for travel, supply purchases, and hosting group activities.

Preferred

· Knowledge of home visiting models and issues impacting urban American Indian/Alaska Native families.

· Willingness to complete two weeks of intensive Parents as Teachers certification training.

· Experience working with urban Native communities.

· American Indian/Alaska Native, Samoan/Tongan, or other Pacific Islander language skills preferred
