(UII), is building an organization of highly-motivated, talented and skillful AI experts and software developers to strengthen our R&D power and address the need of our innovative products in the USA market. UII America, Inc. is building a world-class research and development team in Boston, MA.
We are immediate openings for interns across three tracks. You will apply to one track, but you'll work on a shared platform alongside engineers in the other two so you'll see how a real production health-AI stack fits together end to end.
Responsibilities:
- Full Stack Engineering Intern: You'll work on the backend services and APIs that power our web, mobile, and AI-driven clinical application
- DevOps / Platform Engineering Intern (On-Prem Local Cluster): You'll help us build and operate the on-premises local Kubernetes cluster that serves our clinical users at scale — bare-metal nodes, our own networking, our own storage, no cloud crutches
- Mobile Application Development Intern (React Native): You'll build cross-platform iOS and Android applications in React Native that bring our AI and clinical tools to patients, caregivers, and clinicians.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a MS in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields
- Strong programming skills in Python, Node.js,
- Solid grasp of REST API design, HTTP, and authentication patterns (OAuth, JWT)
- Working knowledge of at least one no sql database like MongoDB or Neo4j is a plus
- Familiarity with message queues or task systems (RabbitMQ, Redis, Celery, Kafka) is a plus
- Hands-on Linux experience and comfort on the command line
- Familiarity with Docker and at least foundational Kubernetes concepts (pods, deployments, services)
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Ansible, Terraform, Helm) through coursework, projects, or prior internships
- Basic networking literacy (DNS, TLS, load balancers, ingress)
- Bonus: experience with monitoring/observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK)
- Solid working knowledge of React Native and modern JavaScript / TypeScript
- Comfortable with React patterns (hooks, context, state management with Redux / Zustand / React Query)
- Experience consuming REST APIs and handling async networking
- Familiarity with the iOS and Android build/release toolchains (Xcode, Android Studio, Fastlane, EAS, App Store / Play Store submission)
- Bonus: experience writing native modules (Swift / Kotlin / Objective-C), on-device ML (TensorFlow Lite, ONNX Runtime), WebSockets/gRPC, or healthcare/accessibility-focused apps
