About the Company
UHP Construction is a newly formed construction platform within United Housing Partners, created to deliver high-quality, cost-effective affordable housing developments across Montana, Oregon, and the broader Western U.S. UHP is currently developing a strong pipeline of projects, including large-scale LIHTC multifamily developments and phased townhome communities in markets such as Missoula, Bozeman, and Bend. This role is a unique opportunity to help build and lead a construction company from the ground up, working alongside an experienced development and design team.
About the Role
The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for establishing, leading, and scaling UHP Construction, including staffing, systems, project execution, and long-term strategic growth. This is a senior leadership role responsible for delivering construction projects while building the internal capabilities of the company to serve as general contractor on future developments.
Responsibilities
- Build and Lead UHP Construction
- Establish operational structure, staffing plan, and internal processes
- Develop and implement systems for project execution, tracking, and reporting
- Build a high-performing construction team, including project managers, superintendents, and field staff
- Project Execution & Oversight
- Lead construction execution across multiple concurrent projects
- Oversee all phases of construction including:
- Preconstruction and budgeting
- Scheduling and procurement
- Construction execution
- Closeout and delivery
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and at high quality standards
- Initial Project Responsibilities
- Lead construction planning and execution for:
- Franklin Crossing (multi-phase 192-unit LIHTC and townhome development)
- Bella Pines (Bend, OR) and other regional developments
- Strategic Planning & Scaling
- Develop business plans and staffing strategies for multi-phase and multi-project construction pipelines
- Evaluate sequencing and overlap of construction phases to optimize resources
- Support expansion into new markets and projects outside of Missoula, including remote project oversight in Oregon
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- UHP Development Team
- UHP Design Team
- External general contractors and partners
- Coordinate design, permitting, procurement, and construction activities across teams
Qualifications
- Significant experience in construction management, preferably multifamily or commercial
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Build and manage construction teams
- Develop and manage construction schedules and budgets
- Execute complex, multi-phase $20-$50 million projects
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and accountability
Required Skills
- Experience with affordable housing / LIHTC projects
- Experience with startup environments or building operational systems
- Ability to manage projects across multiple geographies
- Proficiency in construction scheduling, procurement, and cost controls

Pay range and compensation package
Salary Performance Incentives
- Base Salary: ~$150,000 annually
- Performance Bonuses tied to:
- Project closings
- Project completions
- Milestone achievements (e.g., LIHTC events)
- Equity & Upside Profit-sharing participation based on UHP Construction performance
