Maintenance Technician

United-Guardian, Inc. is a manufacturer of pharmaceuticals and specialty care products. We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position will be responsible for maintaining equipment, building and grounds and includes janitorial related tasks, basic electrical work, basic plumbing knowledge, carpentry, painting and masonry.

Required Education:

- High school diploma or GED

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in facility maintenance or related field, preferably in an FDA regulated setting. Pharmaceutical and/or medical device facility experience a plus.
• Must have an active valid driver’s license
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time effectively
• Familiarity with adherence to Standard Operating Procedures
• Understands the role of upholding GMP principles
• Must be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Constructs, repairs, replaces and maintains structural interior and exterior of building, using both hand and power tools.
• Cleaning of equipment, bathrooms, offices, labs, production areas, warehouses, company cars, building roofs, parking lot, exterior of building and grounds.
• Repairs building fixtures, equipment, and machinery.
• Installs and repairs minor electrical equipment and lighting fixtures.
• Performs minor plumbing jobs.
• Ability to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve maintenance issues

Essential Physical Requirements:

- Ability to walk, stand, and frequently lift items weighing up to 50 lbs., reach with hands and arms, heavy and light lifting and/or carrying, climbing ladders and repetitive motion with hands, arms, legs and body.

- Ability to bend, lift, turn, push, pull, and walk up stairs
