We have an immediate need for a full-time Porter to join our team at The Apex at Crossgates, one of United Group’s professionally managed luxury multi – family apartment communities located in Guilderland, NY.

Daily
Vacuums / mops all common area carpet and tile floors.
Cleans all glass in the vestibules / designated areas of all buildings.
Cleans all common area restrooms.
Weekly
Sweeps / cleans all stairwells.
Vacuums, sweeps, and dusts all Community & Amenity Spaces.
Cleans trash rooms and trash cans.
Vacuums and dusts all offices.
Attends to any immediate need(s) for cleaning, as requested from either a resident or Management.
Additional Items
All windows in the building are to be cleaned inside and out, twice per year.
All common area carpeting is to be cleaned, twice per year.
Maintain the inventory of all cleaning products.
Maintain all cleaning equipment and have serviced at appropriate times.
Assists in the cleaning of vacant units.
Assists in other items as needed, i.e. snow removal, landscaping, minor maintenance items, grounds maintenance, painting, and being available for emergency situations.
Work Environment Physical Demands
May be exposed to outdoor spaces, service areas, or other environments, which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects
May be exposed to substances such as – paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, which may have various odors that may be considered irritants
Frequent body movements include lifting, moving, transferring, bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching
Able to lift, push, pull, and/or carry objects weighing 50 pounds, unassisted, with twisting and turning of the torso, and stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions
Job Overview Requirements
Job Type: Porter, non – exempt $18.50 per hour plus bonus incentive program.
Work Hours: full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (evening and weekend availability for any after hour calls).
Training for Position: maintenance, safety, and related.
Physical Requirements: standing, kneeling, lifting, carrying, painting (as needed).
Required Education: High School Diploma; applicable work history.
Required Experience: 1 years of experience in residential property maintenance is preferred. Experience in cleaning, maintenance or general facility support.
Qualities: Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level. Strong teamwork skills. Willing to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds, excellent communication and customer service skills. Willingness to assist other team members as needed and good work and safety habits.
