We have an immediate need for part-time Community Assistant to join the team at College Suites at City Station, one of United Group’s professionally managed student housing communities located in Troy, NY. To learn more about our property, please visit: https://citystation.mycollegesuites.com/
Community Development
- Maintains frequent and consistent hours of availability in the office for resident issues
- Establishes rapport with each resident and attempts to develop a feeling of group respect, responsibility, and cohesiveness amongst the community
- Refers resident relations issues to the Property Manager and/or Assistant Property Manager
- Spreads awareness of security procedures and precautions
- Maintains confidentiality in situations where it is warranted/needed
- Assists with any resident programming and activities for the community
Administrative Operational Support
- Performs various administrative duties related to successful operations of the community
- Reports on any maintenance and repair work needed to Maintenance Staff promptly
- Assists with opening and closing procedures
- Assists with the marketing and social media initatives for the Property
- Assists with all aspects of the leasing process, gives tours to prospective residents, accepting applications, processing license agreements, assigning rooms, and assisting with promotional events as requested
- Provides excellent customer service to current and prospective residents at all times
Training Development
- Attends any assigned training workshops throughout employment; i.e., Orientation, School of Leasing, etc.
- Completes required online Grace Hill training on a regular basis to ensure compliance with related regulatory requirements and interactions with resident community
Physical Demands Work Environment
- Must be able to stand/walk for 8 to 10 hours.
- Frequent body movements including ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, squat, reach, push, and pull.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors during various weather conditions.
- Frequently may be exposed to outdoor spaces, service areas, or other environments which will, by their nature, have variances in air quality, temperature, walking surfaces, lighting, and other physical aspects.
- Potential exposure to substances such as paints, cleaning agents, chemicals, etc. which may be considered irritants.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform essential functions.
Job Overview Requirements
- Job Type: Community Assistant, Non – Exempt; $18.00 per hour
- Work Hours: Part – Time; Schedules are set in advance based on business needs; rotating weekend availability is required.
- Physical Requirements: standing, kneeling, lifting, carrying, etc.
- Required Education: High School Diploma; applicable work history
- Required Experience: 1 years of experience in customer service, hospitality, and/or property management. Familiar with Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms.
- Qualities: Demonstrates integrity on a personal and professional level. Strong teamwork skills. Willing to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds, excellent communication and customer service skills. Willingness to assist other team members as needed and good work and safety habits
