Department: Store Operations Supervisory

Reports To: Director of Retail Operations

FLSA Classification: Exempt

SUMMARY Supports Store Operations with the execution, planning, and accountability of all produce merchandising, policies and training at store level with the Store Manager and Produce Department Manager. Provide technical assistance and support to the company’s Store Managers and Produce Managers to ensure successful produce department operations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma, G.E.D., or continuing high school studies. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have extensive knowledge of the produce and grocery industries and be comfortable with using Email, Spreadsheet and Word Processing software.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Acceptable driver’s record with valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Certified Food Safety Manager or certification attained within one year of obtaining position. The company will order an updated MVR report annually.

Essential Job Function

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned .

• Travels to store locations to inspect produce facilities; receiving, storing, and displaying of product.
• Directly impacts the company’s produce department operations policies and procedures by developing and revising policies and procedures when necessary.
• Evaluates competitors and consults with vendors and customers to be efficient in category management while offering suggestions to the Director of Retail Sales and the buying department.
• Examines products bought for resale or received for storage.
• Plans store visits and works directly with store management to provide technical assistance to the store managers in the company as follows:
• Oversee and insure proper protocol is followed in the Produce Department; Direct, coordinate, & evaluate the Produce Department operations;
• Assist the store manager with recruiting, interviewing, and training produce department managers and
• Assist with preparation of the produce department managers’ job performance review.
• Assist the produce department manager with planning, assigning, and directing work.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position directs the responsibilities of the Multi-Unit Produce Manager position.
