The Company: At Fray, we believe that play and joy inspire our lives. To that end, our mission is to make fun possible by creating and sharing fun things to do. By creating we mean the production of adult social sports leagues, our own special events, and contracted event work all focused on fun and play. By sharing we mean creating digital and print editorial media content of the fun experiences happening in and around our communities.

The Opportunity: DC Fray is the largest active lifestyle community for young adults in DC. 

We have over a decade of experience creating incredible experiences for our members and strong relationships with our partners, thanks to our amazing team of individuals with eclectic backgrounds in marketing, sports management, community development, business administration, and event planning. 

As an Events Intern at United Fray, you'll report to the Events Team and have the opportunity for hands-on experience in building and executing actual event coordination and onsite activations. 

You'll also receive personal mentorship and access to awesome perks that most other internships aren't able to provide. 


Your Responsibilities: 

  • Promotions: Helping the Promotions manager plan and execute promotional schedules.
  • Coordinating dates and times for any promotions with different accounts around the DC area.
  • Events: United Fray and District Fray host several events per month.
  • Your internship will include helping to coordinate event partners, staffing for the event, set up/break down, and helping to manage registration.
  • Will help assistants manage inventory of event material and gathering of materials pre-event. 
  • Community Outreach: Hanging posters, distributing flyers and/or postcards for events, and identifying outreach opportunities.


Your Qualifications: 

  • Passion and understanding of the event landscape, including various content management systems and email marketing platforms
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail 
  • Strong work ethic, entrepreneurial hustle, and desire to get better every day 
  • Available to work 20 hours per week, in the Washington, DC office (full-time, 40 hours is ideal)
  • Preferred Work Experience
  • Experience with google suite and Microsoft Office products
  • Professional use of Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Experience with Project Management tools like Asana
  • Flexible (start date also flexible)
  • Evenings and/or weekend work on occasion


Compensation: $300 monthly stipend, plus first-in-line options to sign up for paid event temp staff needs onsite.
