Duties
- Review construction drawings and technical specifications to accurately interpret project requirements and material needs.
- Develop detailed cost estimates using HeavyBid or similar estimating software, ensuring precise pricing for labor, materials, and equipment.
- Manage project budgets by monitoring costs, controlling expenses, and implementing effective cost management strategies.
- Prepare comprehensive proposals and negotiate contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms.
- Oversee the bidding process by analyzing bids, evaluating subcontractor proposals, and selecting the best value options.
- Coordinate with construction teams on-site to review progress, address issues promptly, and ensure adherence to safety standards and project timelines.
- Utilize Bluebeam for digital markup of drawings and documentation to facilitate clear communication among stakeholders.
- Review construction drawings thoroughly to verify scope accuracy and identify potential conflicts early in the process.
- Lead project management efforts by scheduling activities, managing resources, and ensuring timely delivery of fire protection systems installations.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor work quality, interpret technical drawings on-site, and ensure compliance with contract specifications.
Skills
- Proficiency in construction estimating software such as HeavyBid and Xactimate for accurate budget forecasting.
- Strong knowledge of fire protection systems design, installation practices, and relevant codes and standards.
- Expertise in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints using Bluebeam or similar tools.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure contracts that maximize value while maintaining quality standards.
- Proven experience managing construction projects from initial estimate through completion with a focus on cost control.
- Skilled in reviewing construction drawings for accuracy and identifying potential issues early in the project lifecycle.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Construction site experience coupled with a solid understanding of construction management principles.
