Job Title: Accounts Payable/Receivable SpecialistSummary / Objective:We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist to play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our organization. This dynamic temp-to-hire position with the opportunity for long-term employment is responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor payments and customer invoices. You will work closely with management, internal departments, and external partners, gaining exposure to advanced accounting practices, inventory management, and process improvement initiatives, with the potential for a permanent role for high-performing individuals.Key Responsibilities:Accounts Payable (AP):Process, verify, and accurately code vendor invoices for payment.Reconcile accounts payable aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices.Maintain organized and up-to-date vendor files and documentation.Assist with electronic transfers, payments, and payment runs as approved by management.Resolve vendor inquiries, billing discrepancies, and maintain accurate vendor records.Prepare and submit annual 1099 reporting.Reconcile bank statements and verify invoices against purchase orders.Assist with special projects assigned by management.Accounts Receivable (AR):Generate, distribute, and manage customer invoices accurately and on schedule.Monitor accounts, follow up on overdue payments, and implement collection strategies.Record, reconcile, and process customer payments, including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit cards.Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve disputes and ensure customer satisfaction.Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, and communications in compliance with company policies and regulations.Generate AR aging reports, track key performance metrics, and support month-end and year-end closing.General Accounting & Inventory Support:Reconcile AP and AR balances regularly and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.Work closely with purchasing to reconcile all inventory transactions and maintain accurate inventory records.Develop PAR levels to ensure adequate inventory and support operational efficiency.Maintain organized financial records and assist with audits and special projects as needed.Qualifications:Education & Experience:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.2–4 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or a similar accounting role.Strong understanding of GAAP principles, 3-way matching, and accounting processes.Familiarity with bank reconciliations, inventory management, and ERP systems.Skills & Competencies:Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and accounting software.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively and work independently with limited supervision.Attention to detail and accuracy in a high-volume environment.Excellent communication skills to interact with internal teams, vendors, and customers.Why Join Us:Opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.Exposure to a variety of accounting functions and inventory management processes.Direct impact on the company’s financial operations and vendor/customer relationships.Potential for professional growth and skill development in accounting and finance.Company DescriptionAt United Employment Solutions, we have a supportive and collaborative work environment where your contributions are valued, alongside opportunities for advancement and competitive benefits.
