Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator to join our construction team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and related construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine material, labor, and time requirements. The estimator works closely with project managers, suppliers, and clients to ensure competitive, complete, and profitable bids.
Duties
- Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and addenda.
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs for drywall, metal studs, acoustical ceilings, and related scopes.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Develop bid proposals, budgets, and change order pricing.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client walkthroughs as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers to transition successful bids into active projects.
- Responsible for new job folder creation and management.
- Maintain and update estimating databases, cost records, and unit pricing.
- Track awarded projects and assist with post-job cost analysis for estimating accuracy improvements.
- Stay informed about current industry pricing, market conditions, and labor rates.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction processes.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Construct Connect and Bluebeam is highly preferred.
- Solid background in construction site experience and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, technical documentation and building systems..
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate estimates and negotiate terms.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
