Position Summary The Drywall Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, and related construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine material, labor, and time requirements. The estimator works closely with project managers, suppliers, and clients to ensure competitive, complete, and profitable bids. Key Responsibilities Review and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and addenda. Perform accurate quantity take-offs for drywall, metal studs, acoustical ceilings, and related scopes. Prepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Request and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes. Develop bid proposals, budgets, and change order pricing. Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client walkthroughs as needed. Collaborate with project managers to transition successful bids into active projects. Responsible for new job folder creation and management. Maintain and update estimating databases, cost records, and unit pricing. Track awarded projects and assist with post-job cost analysis for estimating accuracy improvements. Stay informed about current industry pricing, market conditions, and labor rates. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred. Experience: 3 years of estimating experience in drywall, framing, or general construction. Skills: Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Construct Connect, Bluebeam). Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, technical documents, and building systems. Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills. Strong communication and negotiation abilities. Ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Physical & Work Environment Requirements Primarily office-based with occasional job-site visits. Work from home hybrid opportunity. Must be able to read plans at a desk for extended periods and walk job sites as needed.
