What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Planner / Safety Analyst position at United DOTs Inc.?
Responsibilities:
- Support development of the Comprehensive Safety Action Plan in accordance with USDOT SS4A requirements and the Safe System Approach.
- Analyze existing transportation, land-use, demographic, public-health, and multimodal conditions.
- Develop corridor-evaluation and project-prioritization methodologies.
- Identify and evaluate engineering, education, policy, enforcement-coordination, and technology strategies.
- Prepare implementation plans, project recommendations, timelines, performance measures, and potential funding strategies.
- Coordinate planning activities across counties, municipalities, transportation agencies, emergency services, and community partners.
- Prepare technical memoranda, presentations, executive summaries, and final-plan content.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in transportation planning, urban or regional planning, civil engineering, public administration, or a related field.
- At least five years of transportation-planning or roadway-safety experience.
- Demonstrated experience preparing transportation plans, safety action plans, corridor studies, multimodal plans, or long-range transportation plans.
- Knowledge of USDOT SS4A, the Safe System Approach, ODOT safety programs, HSIP, and applicable federal transportation-planning requirements.
- Strong technical writing, analysis, project coordination, and presentation skills.
- AICP, PE, PTOE, or similar professional certification is preferred.
