United Diagnostics Lab, LLC. is looking for both a full and part time Data Entry Technician to work in our Southaven, MS office. As part of the UDL team, this position reports to the Laboratory Administrative Supervisor.
Schedule: Full Time (12:00p.m.- 9:00p.m.)

Responsibilities: Sorting and unpacking specimens received from outside practices by specimen type daily. Prepares samples for data entry (copy wet requisitions, inspect specimen labels to make sure they are correctly labeled and meet SOPs for minimal acceptance requirements.) Review orders for quality and completeness, filter out specimens that do not meet minimum acceptable criteria (If specimen does not meet al necessary criteria decide if it meets SOP rejection policy. If specimen is not considered a rejection, accessioner will properly store specimen until further information is received). Accession specimens according to the types of requisition received (manual/online orders). Will train all new hire data entry hires (will address any issues expressed by the Data entry team and communicate those to management. Investigate/resolve any pre-analytical specimen issues that arise during entry. Note any discrepancies with order/specimen in requisition entry notes. Document all issues/resolution/including specimens that are rejected on appropriate reports. Responsible for disinfecting his/her own bench and trays. Run daily specimen logs and totals to ensure all orders have been recorded. Specimen Quality Control: Review discrepancies in data received/entered, request clarification if needed and perform data verification routines in accordance with Company procedures. Request all information missing from requisitions in order to expedite specimen processing to ensure results are released to practice within turnaround time set by company. Assist laboratory administrative supervisor with day-to-day items. Work with sales team to ensure follow up happens in timely manner. Billing: ensure all specimens have gone through all pre-analytical quality control processes, and that they are correct and ready for billing department.
Other Job Duties: General scanning and filing orders, records, and reports. Speak with clients daily and handling appropriately. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management personnel. Adhere and comply with all confidentiality (HIPAA), OSHA, and/or other standard requirements set by the Company. Technicians are cross trained in multiple different departments to ensure complete understanding of laboratory procedures.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required. Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs required. Strong data entry skills, general understanding of laboratory practices, strong communication skills, strong attention to detail, ability to work independently as well as with other accessions staff when needed/required. Ability to deal with issues that may arise. Ability to carry out instructions in written or oral form. Ability to properly correspond with professional responses.'
