This is a full-time hybrid position; however, you must reside in Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area.
Senior Solutions Architect
United Data Technologies (UDT) is seeking a Solutions Architect to join our presales engineering team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area. This is a highly engaged, customer-facing role, focused on becoming a trusted advisor to our clients and partnering closely with Account Executives to drive business outcomes through strategic solution design. The ideal candidate brings deep infrastructure and data center expertise, consultative selling experience, and strong communication skills that translate complex technology into clear business value. In additional to acting as the Pre-Sales Technical lead, occasional solution deployment activities will be required in the scope of the SME role of the Solutions Architect.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding business needs and translating them into technical solutions.
- Support Account Managers throughout the sales cycle, from opportunity identification to deal closure.
- Lead customer-facing architecture engagements including workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and technical presentations.
- Develop detailed solution designs and Bills of Materials (BOMs) aligned with customer requirements and best practices.
- Write Statements of Work (SOW) that accurately reflect project scope and deliverables. Provide limited post-sales support for design validation and handoff to delivery teams.
- Collaborate with OEM partners (Fortinet, Cisco, HPE, Juniper) to shape solutions that align with industry trends and standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- 7 years of experience in network architecture and presales engineering.
- Strong expertise across Campus, Data Center, SD-WAN, and Security networking domains. Proven ability to lead customer engagements through workshops, presentations, and storytelling.
- Familiarity with multi-vendor environments including but not limited to Cisco, HPE, Juniper, and Palo Alto.
- Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to articulate value propositions and business outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Certifications
- ACMX / CCNP / CCIE or equivalent senior-level networking certifications.
- Fortinet NSE6 certifications are strongly preferred.
- Additional vendor certifications (e.g., HPE Aruba, Juniper, Microsoft) a plus.
Additional Details
- No direct sales quota responsibility, but close alignment with sales teams is critical.
- Expected travel of 30–40% within Texas region
- Up to 20% Solution Delivery Activities as required
