Senior Data Architect
Senior Data Architect designs, implements, and maintains an organization's data infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with business goals. This role involves creating data models and blueprints, overseeing data integration, and providing technical leadership, often collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include defining data standards, optimizing database performance, and ensuring data governance, while requiring strong skills in areas like data modeling, cloud platforms, and SQL.
Key responsibilities:
• Design and strategy: Develop and maintain comprehensive data models (both logical and physical) and ensure they are integrated across the enterprise. They help deliver the vision set by the chief data architect.
• Implementation: Lead the physical design and implementation of databases for large, complex projects, and develop and test complex ETL (extract, transformation, load) routines.
• Collaboration: Act as a bridge between business requirements and technical solutions, working with teams like data engineers, developers, and business analysts.
• Governance and standards: Establish and enforce data governance frameworks to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. They also ensure teams follow organizational standards.
• Performance and optimization: Monitor database performance and implement improvements, such as optimizing queries and indexing schemes.
• Technical leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to other data architects, lead design sessions, and promote best practices.
