Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our family practice clinic team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients, clinical staff, and front office operations in an outpatient setting. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include patient intake, assisting with medical procedures, supporting documentation and billing processes, and helping with front desk reception tasks.
Duties
- Conduct patient intake, including measuring and recording vital signs, obtaining medical history, and ensuring patients are comfortable.
- Administer injections, assist with IV fluids, and prepare patients for examinations or minor procedures as needed.
- Accurately document patient information and scribe for the physician during patient encounters.
- Assist with charting, ensuring all records are up-to-date and in compliance with clinic policies.
- Support medical billing by collecting, verifying, and entering patient and insurance information.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist with front desk reception, including checking in patients, verifying insurance, and collecting copayments.
- Provide compassionate care and clear communication to patients, promoting a positive clinic experience.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality care.
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, especially in a family practice or outpatient clinic, is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation processes is highly desirable.
- Experience with administering injections and assisting with IV fluids is a plus, but training will be offered.
- Knowledge of medical billing practices and procedures is beneficial.
- Prior experience in customer service or front desk reception is an asset.
- Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to effectively assist in a busy clinical environment.
