United Clearing Services provides vegetation management, right-of-way line clearance, and storm restoration services for utility companies across Texas. Our crews help maintain safe clearance around power lines and utility infrastructure by trimming and removing vegetation that could cause outages or safety hazards.

We are currently hiring Ground Persons to support our field crews. This role is essential to daily line clearance operations and includes assisting climbers and trimmers, managing brush and debris, operating equipment, and maintaining safe work zones. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working outdoors in physically demanding environments.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

Assist tree trimmers and climbers with vegetation management and line clearance work
Gather, drag, and feed brush and limbs into a trailer-mounted wood chipper
Cut brush, limbs, and small trees using chainsaws and hand tools
Set up and maintain traffic control zones with signs and safety equipment
Flag traffic when necessary to maintain safe roadside work zones
Help clear debris from work areas and maintain a safe job site
Carry and transport equipment such as ropes, gas cans, pruner poles, and chainsaws
Service trucks, chippers, and equipment, keeping them clean and in working order
Assist crews during storm restoration and emergency response operations

📋 Minimum Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
Must have reliable transportation to the startup location
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Ability to operate basic landscaping or tree trimming tools and equipment
Ability to communicate clearly with crew members and follow instructions
Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds occasionally
Ability to traverse uneven terrain and work around active tree trimming operations
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

⚠️ Working Conditions:

Outdoor field environment with exposure to weather, rough terrain, and active work zones
Frequent walking, lifting, dragging brush, and operating equipment
Work may occur along roadsides, right-of-way corridors, or residential areas
Travel to different job sites as required

Candidates must be available for full-time work, including 10–12 hour shifts. During storm response operations, schedules may extend up to 7 days per week, including weekends and holidays.
