What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drumline Instructor position at UNITED CHRISTIAN ACADEMY?
Qualifications:
- Must be a born-again Christian.
- Must be a credible Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Bible.
- Must be able to support and comply with the school’s Statement of Faith and Statement of Conduct.
- Must be a member of an evangelical, Bible-believing church.
- Demonstrated experience in drumline instruction, marching percussion, or related teaching/coaching roles.
- Strong percussion performance background and ability to teach various marching percussion instruments (snare, tenor, bass, cymbals).
- Knowledge of marching band/drumline performance traditions and pedagogy.
- Ability to teach and motivate students of varying skill levels.
- Prior experience in a school or youth ministry setting (preferred but not required).
- Must have sufficient health and physical endurance to be able to complete the assigned responsibilities.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills, with proper command of the English language.
- Able to work well independently, manage time well, and handle multiple tasks.
- Must have strong organizational skills
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- TB clearance within the last four years
- Criminal Justice fingerprint clearance
- Immigration Reform and Control Act of 186: An Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) will be required along with the supporting documents listed on the I-9 Form.

Responsibilities
· Teach and train drumline students in percussion technique, music reading, marching fundamentals, and performance skills.
· Plan and lead rehearsals, sectionals, and performances (including school events, chapels, athletic games, parades, and competitions).
· Collaborate with the Band Director in music selection, drill design, and overall program development.
· Maintain high standards of discipline, excellence, teamwork, and Christian character within the drumline.
· Provide individualized instruction and mentorship to encourage student growth.
· Ensure instruments and equipment are properly cared for and stored.
· Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school leadership regarding expectations, schedules, and progress.
· Support the school’s mission to integrate biblical principles into education and the arts.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing/Walking (20%), sitting (60%), lifting (5%), climbing (5%), bending (4%), squatting (6%). Must be able to lift 10-25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work environment includes indoor and outdoor environments and office and classroom settings. Floating desk assignment and/or shared office space may be required; moderate noise levels commensurate to an office environment.
