We need YOU to help us continue that mission with our Summer Work Experience Program (SWEP)
We are currently looking for Job Coaches who want to help participating students realize their personal goals for successful summer employment. You will also have an incredible experience : assisting the students in learning and doing their jobs, being the "go between" with employers and other coworkers and assisting in the development of natural support.
Besides the amazing feeling you will garner each day, these are the other things you will be doing :
- Support up to 5 students in a group work setting by facilitating and supplementing the supervision and training provided by the worksite supervisor.
- Protect the health and safety of students served by supporting them in the work environment.
- Monitor students’ work production and quality to assure a meaningful work experience through relevant, individualized on-the-job training to each of the students until all aspects of the job are clearly understood by the students.
- Be present at the job site every day the students are at work. Must arrive fifteen minutes early to the job site each day to ensure students arrive and know where they are expected to report to work. Must also stay at the job site every day until each student is picked up to go home with a responsible party unless an advance release is signed by the parent or guardian.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills.
- Support the work site supervisor as needed in working with the students and providing instruction.
- Provide positive behavioral supports for students experiencing difficulties with their behavior on the job, involving the family and / or case manager as appropriate.
- Maintain communication with parents throughout the program to provide updates and report any difficulties on the job.
- Ensure that services, documentation, data collection and progress summaries are completed accurately and within designated time frames on a weekly basis.
- Submit weekly participant time sheets and other paperwork in an efficient and timely manner to the designated person.
- Must have readily available reliable transportation.
