About U‑CAP
United Campaign Against Poverty (U‑CAP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing poverty, hunger, homelessness, and inequality through advocacy, community partnerships, education, and direct support services. Through outreach programs, strategic partnerships, and community resource development, U‑CAP supports underserved communities in moving toward self‑sufficiency, hope, and a stronger future.
About the Role
We are seeking committed, mission‑driven individuals to join our working Board of Directors. This is not a ceremonial or governance‑only board — our members actively contribute to the organization’s growth, strategy, and community impact.
Board Members dedicate 6–10 hours per month, participate in quaterly board meetings, and take an active role in chairing or supporting fundraising events. Members collaborate closely with leadership to strengthen programs, expand partnerships, and ensure alignment with U‑CAP’s mission and values.
Volunteer Commitment
This is a volunteer position with no financial compensation. However, it offers a meaningful opportunity to guide a mission‑driven organization, expand your professional network, and help drive lasting community impact. Approved travel and operational expenses are reimbursed.
To ensure U‑CAP remains eligible for critical foundation and institutional funding, we require full board participation in our annual contribution effort. Each Board Member is asked to make a personally meaningful financial contribution or support the organization by helping raise funds. U‑CAP provides comprehensive support, including fundraising resources, toolkits, and guidance, to help every member successfully meet this expectation.
