We are creating a new IT Manager position to serve as UBG's senior technology leader, reporting directly to the President & CEO.
What You'll Do
- Own and execute UBG's technology roadmap aligned to business objectives
- Manage IT budget, vendor contracts, and technology procurement
- Serve as the single point of accountability for all third-party IT partnerships across infrastructure, development, and managed services
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives including policy development, risk assessments, incident response planning, and organization-wide security awareness
- Partner with our senior Systems Analyst/Programmer to steward UBG's IBM i (AS/400) and RPG-based core systems while driving long-term modernization
- Lead modernization across a technology stack that includes IBM i/RPG, Microsoft 365, Teams, SQL Server, Java, web platforms, a customized document workflow system, and AI tools including Claude AI and Microsoft Copilot
- Drive improvements to UBG's web presence and evaluate mobile application capabilities
- Identify and pilot AI/ML opportunities that create operational efficiency
- Manage internal IT staff and lead hiring for new technical positions
- Evaluate emerging technologies and advise executive leadership on strategy, risk, and investment priorities
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, MIS, or related field
- 5 years of progressive IT experience with increasing technical and leadership responsibility
- Demonstrated experience managing vendor and partner relationships
- Broad technical literacy across cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, Teams), databases (SQL Server), web technologies, networking, security, and AI/automation tools
- Experience with or exposure to legacy enterprise systems (IBM i/AS400, COBOL, RPG, or similar)
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technology strategy
- Strong people management skills with the ability to mentor, develop, and recruit technical talent
Preferred:
- Experience with IBM i (AS/400) environments and RPG modernization
- Hands-on mobile development experience (React Native, Flutter, or similar)
- Familiarity with AI/ML tools and practical business applications
- Background in financial services, asset management, or regulated industries
- Experience in organizations of similar scale (15-50 employees) where breadth is valued over specialization
