Position Overview
We are looking for a motivated, dependable, and experienced Forklift Operator to join our Lafayette warehouse team. The primary responsibility of this position is to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to receive, move, stage, store, and load materials and finished products.
The ideal candidate will have previous forklift operating experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial environment, be safety-focused, and be comfortable handling heavy materials in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move materials and products.
- Load and unload trucks while ensuring proper handling and placement of products.
- Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials and products.
- Pick, stage, and prepare products for outgoing shipments.
- Safely move and organize inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through manual logs or warehouse management systems.
- Perform routine forklift and equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
- Work closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet shipping and production deadlines.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements.
- Previous forklift operating experience is required.
- Valid forklift certification is highly preferred.
- Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift in confined and industrial spaces.
- Ability to safely handle and move heavy materials.
- Basic understanding of inventory and warehouse procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Ability to work around machinery noise, dust, fluctuating temperatures, and moving equipment.
