At United, we like to solve puzzles. From where we fly to when we fly, and even what planes we fly, our Network Planning team crafts flight schedules and routes that connect you with hundreds of destinations around the world.
The Analyst role will be responsible for developing and implementing the Domestic network strategy and planning for one of United’s seven US hubs with the goal of maximizing profitability, schedule utility, and operational feasibility. The work of this group is highly visible and critical for the success of the airline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimize the schedules for maximum network value
- Create and implement day-of-week capacity plans for the hub
- Work with other Network teams to optimize fleet deployment across the hub and network
- Forecast financial performance of potential new market additions
- Regularly evaluate industry trends and their impact on our Hub strategy
- Develop long term hub strategy for United’s future growth
- Work cross functionally with commercial and operating groups to ensure viability of network plans
- Perform ad-hoc analyses on the broader United network and fleets
- Represent United at industry conferences and external stakeholder meetings
NOTE: This position provides a hybrid work schedule including a combination of days worked at our Chicago office and remotely.

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2-4 years professional work experience or one year of aircraft scheduling/planning
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
- Complex problem solving through independent critical thinking
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
