POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Inspector I to join our aerospace manufacturing team on a full-time basis. This position is responsible for performing dimensional and visual inspections of composite and machined aerospace components. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102, and supporting FAA conformity inspections within an AS9100-compliant Quality Management System. Success in this role requires a strong aptitude for technology, including the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new inspection software, digital tools, and data systems.

Essential duties: 

• Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) per AS9102 to verify dimensional and process compliance on new or revised parts (preferred experience).
• Support and coordinate with FAA designees (DAR/DER) during conformity inspections to ensure compliance with FAA standards.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of composite components and assemblies.
• Review material certifications, cure logs, and NDI reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Contribute to internal quality audits and continuous improvement efforts aligned with AS9100 standards.
• Utilize electronic quality management systems, inspection software, and digital documentation platforms to record, analyze, and maintain inspection data.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Preferred experience performing FAIs per AS9102 requirements.
• Familiarity with FAA conformity documentation and processes.
• Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and 3D CAD models.
• Strong attention to detail and clear, concise documentation skills.
• Strong computer skills required, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), quality tools such as Net-Inspect, and the ability to quickly learn and apply new software or digital inspection technologies.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Education: Technical certificate in related field preferred, Associate degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years' recent experience required.

Other Requirements: Manufacturing, Government Contracting, Aviation and/or Defense Industry experience a plus.

Physical Demands:
This role requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for portions of the workday; sit for extended periods.

• Frequently bend, reach, handle, and perform fine motor tasks.
• Occasionally climb, kneel, squat, or crawl.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis, and occasionally up to 50 lbs with assistance.
• Maintain visual acuity for close detail work, depth perception, and distinguishing colors.

Work Environment:
