As a Tack Welder, you will play a foundational part in the welding process, setting and securing components so that final welds come together smoothly and safely. In this position, you will prepare and position metal parts, apply initial tack welds to hold assemblies in place, and work alongside fitters and journeyman welders to ensure accurate alignment before full welding begins. This role requires someone who is dependable, safety-minded, and eager to build trade skills on active job sites.

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine welding and positioning requirements.
• Set up, align, and secure metal components with clamps, fixtures, and tack welds before final welding.
• Perform tack welding on various materials and joint configurations to specified tolerances.
• Inspect fit-up and tack placement to confirm accuracy, adjusting as needed to prevent distortion.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area, and follow all safety procedures and protective equipment requirements.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and project milestones.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and promptly report any issues promptly.

We are looking for a motivated Tack Welder with strong technical skills and a strong work ethic. The following qualifications will help you succeed:

• Prior experience in tack welding, fabrication, or a related trade is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with common welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
• Steady hand-eye coordination and the ability to work precisely under deadlines.
• Commitment to workplace safety and willingness to follow established protocols.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift materials, and work in varied site conditions.
• A completed welding certification or trade training is a plus.
