Position Summary:

UUUM is currently seeking a full-time Roxbury Youth Programs – Program Manager to supervise all aspects of RYP, which include youth leadership and community engagement activities, tutoring, and alumni engagement. The Program Manager will lead the curriculum delivery to 15-35 young people each year with the support of 2 youth program coordinators and the Director of Programs.

Responsibilities:

75% Program Supervision & Youth Development

• Develop and implement goal-oriented curricula for 15-35 young people during the academic year and the 7-week summer session

• Oversee daily activities in the program to ensure high-quality programming and a safe and nurturing environment

• Supervise and support 2 youth coordinators

• Create a process for collecting youth feedback and comments

• Provide 1-on-1 support to young people as needed

• Develop and execute a program marketing, recruitment, and screening plan

• Prepare for and participate in regularly scheduled meetings with active participants

• Maintain accurate and timely youth records

• Refine program polices and guidelines

• Support in the development of RYP communication and messaging to community stakeholders

• Communications and outreach to parents/guardians

10% Program/Youth Evaluations & Alumni Cultivation

• Support and administer program evaluations provided through Boston After School & Beyond

• Actively participate in program-wide planning and evaluation

• Work with staff to implement recommended program enhancements

• Support the development of consistent alumni communication

10% Administration

• Provide facilitation or 1-on-1 feedback to RYP volunteers or interns

• Participate in monthly UUUM staff meetings, weekly RYP meetings and supervision with the Director of Programs

• Assist in other departments and/or UUUM initiatives as required by the Director of Programs

5% Professional Development

• Participate in ongoing professional development as requested

Qualifications

• 3 years of direct experience developing curriculum and delivering programming to young people

• Demonstrated history of program success (i.e. youth persistence, recruitment/expansion,

demonstrated impact)

• Understanding of the positive youth development framework and non-profit management preferred

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Proficient knowledge of video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet or WebEx) and educational technology (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite)

• Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and culturally responsive workplace and learning environment

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills, careful attention to detail

• Experience and desire to work in a team setting

• Feel comfortable being seen as a leader and modeling for colleagues and youth

• Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred, commensurate experience considered

Salary:=$65,000
