Your Mission
In addition to supporting the CEO in his day to day responsibilities, the Chief of Staff will be a thought leader in strategic conversations at the board and executive level, will be responsible for collaborating with senior executives and business partners on the development and execution of strategic initiatives and business operations improvements, and will drive key strategic business development opportunities. You will be the eyes and ears of the CEO across the organization and be a driving force to get things done.
About You
You have a strong strategic orientation, excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to be clear and concise in your work. You are a strong collaborator and influencer within all levels of the organization, including executives and have a high level of self responsibility. You want to join an innovative, high-growth startup where you’ll have the ability to learn and grow within the organization.
Within 1 month, you’ll:
- Work closely with Unison’s CEO and leadership team to help plan and implement our new strategy initiatives
- Work cross-functionally with different teams at Unison to assist the executive team with meetings and preparing for presentations
- Instrumental in organizing the Board of Directors meetings and being the ongoing link between the Board and the CEO.
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Work with leadership to deliver, monitor and communicate progress towards goals
- Respond to inquiries on behalf of the Chief Executive
- Construct rigorous financial models for testing and validation of strategic initiatives
- Assess risk when business decisions are made
- Provide support and oversight for special projects and initiatives
- Identify and providing recommendations on improvements across the organization
Within 6 months, you’ll:
- Drive key strategic Business development opportunities
- Collaborate with senior executives and business partners on the development and execution of strategic initiatives and business operations improvements
- Motivate, guide and develop team members in the strategy group and other teammates supporting our initiatives
- Provide department leaders with recommendations and consultation to improve teamwork
- Oversee multiple strategic business initiatives from ideation to implementation
Your Skillset
- Bachelor’s degree in a finance, economics, business management or a related field, MBA preferred
- 8 years of experience working in consulting, investment banking, strategy at a high growth startup or related experience
- Strong financial skills and experience building and operating financial models
- Excellent Collaboration and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Excellent Google Slides and Google Sheets skills (and/or Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel)
- Organized, entrepreneurial self-starter; able to identify what needs to get done, then willing and able to make it happen
- Strategic mindset - you're comfortable thinking a few steps ahead of where the team is at now
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and a passion for solving ambiguous or complex business issues
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once and operate in a high-pace environment

Salary Range:
The base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $170,000 and the job duties must be performed from our San Francisco, CA office. This range does not include bonus potential, equity, or additional benefits that the company may provide. Unison offers a competitive total rewards package that includes company-paid health benefits, a 401k program, commuter benefits, as well as employee assistance programs.
The base salary offered will be determined by a wide array of factors such as experience, skills, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
