The Mobile Device Software team is seeking a Teat Automation Engineer to work on mission-critical projects contributing to Spectrum's commitment of building and expanding intelligent WIFI capabilities.
As a member of the Mobile Device Software organization, you'll be required to work in an agile team environment where professional respect and communication is key. Because we work on the cutting edge of a lot of technologies, we need someone who is a creative problem solver, resourceful in getting things done, and productive working independently or collaboratively. As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, modifying, enhancing, and implementing test automation software designed to support business initiatives. You will work in all phases of projects, which are of considerable complexity, and require strong knowledge of development and testing technologies and principles and design patterns. You will also serve as a technical authority and resource for your team while also providing technical assistance and advice on existing software solutions. More specifically, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts using Python, Behave (Gherkin), and modern Python packaging tools.
- Develop, maintain, and publish custom Python libraries to internal PyPi registries, ensuring code quality and compliance with PEP 8 standards (using tools such as Black).
- Integrate JFrog Artifactory for artifact storage, including experience with the JFrog Artifactory CLI.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Jira for project tracking and management in an Agile environment.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including advanced YAML configuration, scheduled pipelines, and management of physical runners and executors.
- Integrate containerization technologies (Podman/Docker) into CI/CD workflows, including building custom container images, maintaining container registries, and deploying containers within pipelines.
- Implement and maintain automated dashboard reporting and alerting systems to provide visibility into test results and system health.
- Utilize and maintain Test Case Management Systems, ensuring best practices for test plan creation, maintenance, and execution.
- Work with Android OS and physical Android devices in Developer Mode, leveraging ADB for device management and test automation.
- Interpret Android application code written in Kotlin or Java to support automation and troubleshooting efforts.
- Utilize Jupyter Notebooks and Pandas for data processing, visualization, and exploratory testing.
- Work with databases such as MongoDB and SQL for test data management and reporting.
- Write clean, concise code that is stable, extensible and tested appropriately.
- Communicate frequently and effectively with other engineers on the team in addition to our product managers, scrum masters and project managers.
- Test (Manual and Automated) software to ensure proper and efficient execution and adherence to business and technical requirements.
- Contribute to knowledge tools and communities and ensure project learning's are documented and shared.
- Practice Test-driven development along with development peers in writing software and building products.
- Establish continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous deployment pipelines and practices.
- Provide production support for software products used by Client's Mobile Customers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- knowledge of Java, Kotlin, Gradle and the Android SDK.
- Knowledge of using RESTful APIs.
- Some working knowledge of Telecom technologies like 5G, CBRS, 4G, LTE is good to have.
- Experience with software development best practices and design patterns.
- Familiarity using test-driven development frameworks or automated testing tools for mobile development.
- Good understanding of OO Design, concurrency, synchronization, memory management, data structures, algorithms, etc.
- Team player mindset and a great sense of humor.
- Working experience in Agile software development and leveraging continuous integration and deployment practices.
- Willingness to lead mentor and advise other engineering team members.
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
- 5 years overall automated software testing experience
- 5 years python development experience
- 3 years writing, executing and reporting of manual test plans
- 3 years web services testing experience using REST, JSON, XML
- 2 experience with markdown and reporting tools
- 2 years of API testing experience (postman / newman / SoapUI)
- 1 years SQL DB (MySql, Postgres)
