Role Overview
The Project Management Specialist / Liaison (PML) will support the Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (Florida PALM) Project for the Florida Department of Financial Services, based in Tallahassee, FL.
This is a fully dedicated role focused on managing Commerce s internal readiness workplan and facilitating a smooth transition to the Florida PALM solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary support to the Commerce Liaison (CL) and Change Champion Network (CCN) by monitoring and tracking readiness activities and Readiness Workplan tasks.
- Create, own, and manage Commerce s internal workplan aligned with the Florida PALM implementation timeline and agency-driven readiness activities.
- Provide regular status updates to the CCN and other stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans.
- Act as a project management specialist for large-scale or agency-wide initiatives, ensuring adherence to established project management methodologies and standards.
- Interface with the Florida PALM Project team to ensure Commerce understands and meets all milestones defined by the central project.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts within Commerce to support process changes, testing, training, and cutover activities related to Florida PALM.
- Assist with additional duties as needed to support the overall transition to Florida PALM.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Strong knowledge and experience with the Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM) Project.
- Knowledge of the Florida PALM implementation timeline and Readiness Workplan activities.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects that bridge both IT and business functions in multi-platform environments.
- Hands-on experience managing teams, stakeholder communication, customer service, and production project management.
- Ability to develop, maintain, and track detailed project/work plans, including tasks, owners, dependencies, and milestones.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including status reporting and presentation to leadership and cross-functional groups.
