What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician- Off Shift position at Uniseal/ LG Chem?
UniSeal, an LG Chem company, is seeking a skilled and motivated 2nd and 3rd shift Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving plant equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production. Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, mixers, and plant machinery
- Install, modify, and fabricate equipment as needed to support operations
- Perform preventive and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities
- Inspect equipment and identify opportunities for improvement and reliability enhancements
- Replace and adjust machine components to ensure optimal performance
- Record and communicate equipment downtime and maintenance activities
- Support equipment startup, shutdown, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Order and manage replacement parts and critical spare components
- Train and mentor new maintenance team members
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment
- Support environmental, health, and safety initiatives, including waste recycling and hazardous material handling procedures when required
- Participate in emergency response activities as necessary
Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to safely work around manufacturing equipment
Preferred
- Previous industrial maintenance experience
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical systems
- Manufacturing or production environment experience
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and TPM initiatives
