Early Interventionist / Neuroaffirming Caregiver – Part-Time (San Francisco)
We are seeking a neuroaffirming early interventionist or Registered Behavior Technician to work in a caregiver role. Seeking someone with Bachelor’s or Associates degree and experience working with autistic children to support a wonderful 13-year-old girl in Mill Valley, who has developmental and behavioral support needs.
This role is ideal for someone with training in early childhood development, special education, psychology, speech-language pathology assistant, occupational therapy, or a related field, who takes a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach to supporting children. We want someone who will play, do art, help to cook and most importantly, always willing to learn!
The ideal candidate is warm, patient, and playful, and enjoys building strong relationships with children while supporting communication, regulation, and developmental growth through meaningful interaction and play.
Schedule
Monday–Friday and occasional Sundays
2:30 PM – 6:30 PM
Responsibilities may include:
- Picking up the child from school
- Taking the child to activities or outings (park, library, enrichment)
- Engaging in art based activities
- Supporting emotional regulation using positive, neuroaffirming strategies
- Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence
- Light child-related tasks (child laundry, preparing simple meals/snacks but these are secondar)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree required (special education, child development, psychology, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, or related field)
- Experience working with autistic children required
- Commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practices (respecting and supporting autistic communication, regulation, and learning styles)
- Patient, reliable, and engaging personality
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation preferred
Compensation:
Begins at $40 and up to $45 per hour depending on experience.
Pay: From $43.00 per hour
