Early Interventionist / Neuroaffirming Caregiver – Part-Time (San Francisco)
We are seeking a neuroaffirming early interventionist with a Bachelor’s degree and experience working with autistic children to support a wonderful 4-year-old child in San Francisco who has developmental and behavioral support needs.
This role is ideal for someone with training in early childhood development, special education, psychology, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, or a related field, who takes a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach to supporting children.
The ideal candidate is warm, patient, and playful, and enjoys building strong relationships with children while supporting communication, regulation, and developmental growth through meaningful interaction and play.
Schedule
Monday–Friday
2:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Responsibilities may include:
- Picking up the child from preschool
- Taking the child to activities or outings (park, library, enrichment)
- Engaging in play-based developmental activities
- Supporting emotional regulation using positive, neuroaffirming strategies
- Encouraging communication, social interaction, and independence
- Light child-related tasks (child laundry, preparing simple meals/snacks)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required (special education, child development, psychology, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, or related field)
- Experience working with autistic children required
- Background or experience in early intervention strongly preferred
- Commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practices (respecting and supporting autistic communication, regulation, and learning styles)
- Patient, reliable, and engaging personality
- Clean driving record and reliable transportation preferred
Compensation:
$50–$55 per hour depending on experience.
Pay: From $50.00 per hour
