Job Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Director to help manage daily operations, maintain compliance with Virginia state licensing standards, and support our teaching staff. This individual will partner with the Center Director to ensure a safe, organized, and high-quality learning environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Curriculum Leadership: Provide, implement, and ensure all teaching staff strictly adhere to the center's designated learning curriculum.
- Daily Operations: Assist the Director in managing daily staff schedules, monitoring classroom ratios, and handling administrative paperwork.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the center meets Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) child day center standards and child care subsidy requirements.
- Staff & Classroom Support: Mentor teachers on classroom management and ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols.
- Director Support: Assume full administrative responsibility for the center during the Director's absence.
Credentials and Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- At least 48 semester hours of college credit (with 12 hours in child-related subjects) plus 1 year of programmatic experience.
- Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and Child Protective Services (CPS) clearance.
- Negative Tuberculosis (TB) screening completed within the last 30 days.
